Rating: N/A

Review: The long awaited, highly anticipated fifth installment of Lil Wayne’s ’The Leak’ (Bootleg) series of mixtapes has finally arrived. And while anything Wayne is almost guaranteed to be fire, this tape has a lot of material that has already leaked and been beaten to a pulp on the mixtape circuit. For example, most of the better tracks on “The Leak 5″ including Can I Talk To You, I Can’t Feel My Face, Guerilla City, Leanin’ Low, I Want This Forever, Forgot About Me, Ransom, The Best Rapper, Do It For The Boy, Gangsta Muzic, and I’m So Paid are all notably older tracks that are not exclusive to “The Leak 5″. While freshness isn’t the sole determining factor in rating a mixtape, generally it is desirable to have some exclusive material on a mixtape. The lone unreleased joint on the tape is titled One Night Stand and features Curren$y and Mack Maine, but it sounds like it was recorded in a bathroom not the multi-million dollar Cash Money suite at The Hit Factory in Miami. I’m So Paid featuring Akon and Young Jeezy is certainly one of the best songs on the tape. Wayne also puts his Young Money lineup on real hard with Nutt Da Kid contributing to a handful of tracks, most notably I Want This Forever which is a really good track. Check for I Can’t Feel My Face, Forgot About Me and Gangsta Muzic, all three of which are quality songs from Weezy. Jay-Z contributes to the trackPut My Money and when both Carters get down on the same joint it never disappoints. Make sure to listen to Can I Talk To You  which features Wayne doing a bit of singing while his Young Money all-stars take care of the verses. Overall this tape is a welcome addition to ‘The Leak’ series although it might not live up to the standard set by “The Leak 4″. Other featured artists include Juelz Santana, Keri Hilson, Jim Jones, Plies, Andre 3000, Scarface, Bun B, and Nikki Minaj. The streets really like the cover art and more material should be on the way soon from Wayne.
